10 Best Beauties Bedded by Bond
Nothing wrong with a bit of alliteration so join me as we check out the 10 Best Beauties Bedded by Bond. Incidentally there have been 83 Bond girls in the film series although 007 hasn’t managed to get his leg over with all of them. You tend to think of suggestive names when you think of Bond girls but most of them had pretty dull monikers. The most innuendo packed were Pussy Galore, Plenty O’Toole and Holly Goodhead. Anyway here are the top ten in chronological order.
Honey RyderUrsula Andress as Honey Ryder
The entrance of Ursula Andress in Dr. No has gone down as an iconic moment in cinema history. It is also perhaps the ultimate Bond girl moment. Clad in a skimpy white bikini she rises from the ocean and sings to herself as Bond spies on her and drools. It takes him until the end of the movie to seduce her in a boat as the credits roll.
Pussy GaloreHonor Blackman as Pussy Galore
In Goldfinger Bond proves his incredible sex appeal is enough to turn a lesbian straight by bedding the evil henchwoman of the eponymous villain. She was actually the oldest Bond girl ever at the ripe old age of 38. Apparently the producers briefly panicked about the obviously dodgy name and made plans to change it to Kitty Galore but the press had already noted the name and started using it. Not only does Bond challenge her sexuality but he also gets her to switch allegiance and betray Goldfinger.
DominoClaudine Auger and Kim Basinger as Domino
In Thunderball Auger is Domino and Bond first meets her swimming and frees her when her foot gets stuck at which point you know he will sleep with her later. Domino wasn’t just sexy though she was also out to get revenge on Largo. Playing a dangerous game her cover is eventually exposed and Largo tortures her but she gets the last laugh shooting him in the back with a harpoon gun. In the remake, Never Say Never Again which saw the return of Connery for a last outing she was played by Basinger and at the end Bond announced his retirement to go off and live with Domino.
Tiffany CaseJill St. John as Tiffany Case
Diamonds are Forever included the infamous Plenty O’Toole who was thrown topless into a swimming pool from a hotel balcony. However the real Bond girl of the movie was Tiffany Case the ditzy gold digging bimbo who unwittingly worked for Blofeld. Bond tells her what’s what, makes her help him and then beds her. The actress Jill St. John dated Connery in real life in between her four marriages and relationships with Henry Kissinger and Frank Sinatra.
SolitaireJane Seymour as Solitaire
Long before Dr. Quinn back in the days when Jane Seymour was hot she became the youngest Bond girl ever at the age of 22. Bad luck for her that she was the Bond girl in Roger Moore’s first outing, Live and Let Die. Solitaire was a virginal fortune teller who could see the future but Bond put paid to that taking her cherry and thereby ruining her psychic ability. She is later kidnapped but Bond rescues her from the angry clutches of Kananga just in time.
Mary GoodnightBritt Ekland as Mary Goodnight
She is a dizzy blond assistant to Bond in The Man with the Golden Gun and he treats her badly. In fact he makes her hide in the cupboard while he bangs Andrea Anders, the lover of Scaramanga. Goodnight is not amused and it seems Bond may have blown his chance but at the end of the film she relents to his charms and after Nick Nack is embarrassingly locked in a suitcase they get down to business.
Kara MilovyMaryam d’Abo as Kara Milovy
Milovy is a beautiful cellist who is pressed into service as an assassin. Bond, played by Timothy Dalton, takes a shine to her and at great personal risk he shoots the file out of her hand instead of killing her and then rescues her from the KGB. Unfortunately she is an idiot and she almost wrecks the mission when she betrays him. She eventually gets the point towards the end and helps him to victory over the Soviets.
Elektra KingSophie Marceau as Elektra King
The spoiled daughter of oil tycoon Sir Robert King in The World Is Not Enough Elektra is secretly plotting to kill her father and take over the family business. She fools everyone for a while, including Bond who can’t resist jumping into bed with her. She later kidnaps M and nearly kills Bond but he somewhat inevitably ends up shooting her. Not a great Bond film but Marceau looks fine.
JinxHalle Berry as Giacinta Jinx Johnson
Jinx is a tough female character in Die Another Day but that doesn’t stop her dropping her panties for Bond. She works for the NSA and is tracking the same bad guys as Bond. She gets caught and tortured by the imaginatively named henchman Mr Kil but Bond saves her. They end up escaping together but the first time they meet is a reference to Honey Ryder as Jinx emerges from the ocean in a bikini with Bond looking on.
Vesper LyndEva Green as Vesper Lynd
She is a sarcastic and aloof MI6 operative sent to assist Bond and keep an eye on him in Casino Royale. Daniel Craig in his first outing as Bond has to work hard to crack her hardened shell but he manages to pull her eventually. In fact he falls head over heels but Vesper has a dark secret and the whole thing ends in an awful tragedy. It more often than not ends in awful tragedy for women who succumb to Bond's charms.
